Pregnancy Update..

Today I wait no more..saspen beb!so menonong je pegi jumpa gynea kt KK B*alok. Ingatkan nk amik 2 jam keluar jer...tp siap amik darah bagai, sampai kul 10.30am x siap2 lg jumpa gynea. Tepun boss, nasib baik dpt amik 1/2 day emergency..heheheh...Tq boss!

Masuk jer bilik doc, terus jer scan..and the best words from the gynea is:
"Your baby's sac is visible now, and it is normal!"
Rasa nk peluk2 gynea tu ok!

So, the story goes I kena tunggu sampai the next scan. Kalu IUCD tu kacau growth, dia akan buang IUCD tu. If no complication then the IUCD will be out together with my baby..

Semoga segalanya dipermudahkan Allah, ameen!So, for the 1st time ever since the pregnancy, I could smile on the heavenly present Allah had bestow upon us!

Mual yg Terlampau!

Semalam aku mual..mual semual-mualnya!
Kul 3.30pg smlm bangun, da rasa mual..tido blk sebab malas nk layan (boleh?)

Pegi gak keje dlm keadaan lemau seantero badan..by 11.30am, texted hubby "Uwaaaa!nk blk!" sebab dah muntah2 sampai lembik satu bdn..

Dapat MC,terus blk umah tp bukannya dpt tido pun!1/2 jam sekali mesti berlari g sinki..owh..camni rupanya rasa alahan mengandung..sebab mmg x pernah kena masa 1st pregnancy dulu. siksanya laa yer. Camno nk harung 3 bulan camni?Harus MC berderet2 ini macam..Malam brla bley mkn sikit, hirup tom yam yg hubby beli.

Hari ni ok pulak..x dela rasa mual ke ape. Tp selera kureeng sikit. Memang alahan mmg on-off camni ker?Ke kena keracunan makanan?

Ntahla labu..daku pun confuse. hati ni x tenang selagi x tahu baby's location kat mane...

Yup, finally the two line finally did appear!

I have been under lethargic spells last month & suddenly everything is so slow to comprehend.

After I was diagnosed with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), I became suspicious (I only get this during my previous pregnancy).

After my period came later than 5 days, I become MORE suspicious!Therefore I paksa my hubby to buy the kit and wallah!the two line is there!YIPPIE!(actually we are planning for 2nd one this year)

But there's a catch,
I STILL HAVE MY IUCD TUCK INSIDE!*gasp*

So ladies & gentlemen, I have reasons to freak out ok?This means that
I would have higher chances of ectopic pregnancy. If I do have this, half of fallopian tube will be gone!*Moga dijauhkan Allah!*

I go for scan at my panel clinic but doc still cannot determine where is the embryo yet. I have to wait at least for another 2 weeks until the next scanning. In this two weeks' time, I was strictly ordered to seek medical help if I experiencing any severe abnominal pain & bleeding.

So until the two weeks is due:
*DUP*DAP*DUP*DAP* (takutnyeeee...)

Tips for Kitchen Cabinet

Rasa gedik nk wat satu entry psl kitchen cainet (KC) ni sebab umi sufira asking for tips for her lovepad..pasni kena ajak akak dtg raya umah tau!

1. Budget & practicality
Well, kalu lagi mahal lg lawa. Tak dapat disangkal lagi..hehehe. Tapi yg mahal x semestinya praktikal. For my side, I prefer the one that is affordable AND practical. sebab most of mommies time is at the kitchen right?tp kalu u ada budget lebih, boleh guna solid wood for the whole KC..owh!sesungguhnya mak x mampoooo...(yet!)

Solid wood kalu kena air, dia mengembang but bley shrink to its size back. Tapi u pakai chipboard, potensi utk mengembang tu mmg ada.

2. Style
Now it is up to you to have country look or modern look. For me I go for modern younger look!(eh..akak muda lagi tau!hehehe...)

Now we go to the details:
1. Working Top
As I wrote in your blog last time, baaanyaaaaak sgt pilihan worktop.

a) Solid surface
Pro:Solid surface mmg cantik, nampak smooth & silky gitu. sebab kalu L-shaped, at the joint tu mmg x nampak. Classy look.
Cons:Cepat calar, x leh numbuk sambal belacan sekuat hati..kena lemah gemalai gitu...another thing:MAHAL (utk akak laaa..)

b) Worktop
Sebab akak mmg dok arena chipboard nih, meh akak terangkan psl worktop. Worktop tahan lasak, x calar (because of the embossing feature). tapi still kalu nk numbuk guna lesung batu tu mmg kena waspada selalu..hehehe...tapi kalu kena air,kena cepat2 lap. that is one of the turn-offs for worktop for me. sbb akak ni mmg ada penyakit 'M'..:P

c) Solid wood
As I said..MAHAL. tapi mmg worth it!

d) Concrete slab (2x2)
Utk akak yg selalu kerjanya menumbuk sambal belacan & seangkatan dgnnnya,ini mmg pilihan kalbu...sebab tahan lasak, x calar, & kalis air!sbb 2'x2' is quite big, so quite smooth looking gaklaa...

2. Door finishing
a) Glossy acrylic ones (ada nama lain ke ha?)
Cepat calar!but very high class looking!kalu pakai warna hitam pun x pe sebab dia shining!so u bley adapt worktop kt atas tu yg cerah sket...

b) Chipboard with melamine paper
Yang ni agak murah sbb guna chipboard. Ada mcm2 kaler!mmg best...tp not very water proof..but who cares?pintu bukannya kena air kan?Melamine paper also ada yg glassy look, so various design u can see from there..(mesin melamine ni mmg akak yg jaga, so I know a bit about the designs & so on. Most of KC companies buy melamine products from us)

3. Hood & Hob
Kalu u punya hood & hob kt open area, pls bear in mind bila u masak, all the minyak2 will be spattered everywhere. so jgn letak brg kat sekeliling tuh. Ada org yg 'kepung' hood & hob area tu pakai dinding concrete so the problem solved (bley paham ke nih?)

Sebab rata2 org Melayu msk byk minyak, hood & hob is better to put in wet kitchen. Yg dry kitchen just put only the cabinets. Maximum storage!(and another reason to shop for more Corningware!hehehe..)

So that's all for now..ni pendapat I jer..it is up to you becoz lain org lain tastenya. Kalu sesapa ada lg nk tambah, silakan la yer!

Retrenchment Nightmare..

The brutality of life is finally here. The nightmare has come..The list of name who will be retrench next week is finally out..

Personally I feel for them.Even though me & hubby are lucky to stay afloat, there are people who didn't make it. In the list are also those few who had been with the company for 10 years (..and I thought LIFO is the standart procedure!).

I am not racist, but 100% who has been retrenched is Malay. None of Chinese is involved. Seems like holocaust to me..

One of the person I knew just move in to his new house nearby just before me had to move out to rent somewhere else...

I am pure sad...so sad!
(pls excuse me for my emotional state!)

Ya Allah!Kau berikanlah kemudahan kepada hambaMu yg kesusahan
& teraniaya,
Kau berikanlah mereka kekuatan untuk menghadapi ujian ini,

My (Not-So) Breastfeeding Journey..

I have to admit memang saya x pernah update about my breastfeeding journey. Sememangnya kerdil rasa diri ini tatkala membaca perihal mommies yg cukup tegar menyusukan anak-anak mereka. Malah, ada yang lebih muda belia dah ada kesedaran yg tinggi…betapa beruntungnya…

Why I failed to breastfeed in the 1st year of Yana’s life:
1. Zero knowledge about EBM storage
Saya pernah menangis bilamana saya terpaksa memerah susu dgn tangan ke dlm toilet bowl…sampai skrg saya menyesal okeh?

2. Zero knowledge due to lack of internet connectivity
Yeah..without internet you cannot get all the info that you need. Sebenonya internet office ni pun saya masuk secara haram..Sshhhhh…Unless if you have a friend who is breastfeeding as well, so you could share all your experiences terutamanya ketika supply merudum…

Memang menjadi seorang ibu baru memang mencabar, terutamanya bila kita x tahu apa nk expect. Org ni advice lain, org tu ckp x boleh, mak sendiri cakap gitu, MIL pulak cakap gini..Sekejap ni x boleh makan, tanya org lain boleh pulak! Especially Yana pulak msa dlm hari asik kembung jer…so bila saya stop mkn limau Sunkist, mak marah (for your info, mak saya seorang jururawat dulu, so pendekatan dia lebih moden, x de pantang2 makan ni..)walhal masa tu saya intend to stop makan each one sekejap jer in order to troubleshoot makanan apa yg sebabkan Yana kembung, x lbh dari itu..

Disebabkan anak2 akak saya termasuk adik beradik saya x de masalah kembung, so saya x prepare for this. Barut pun beli yg zap on tu jer..Bila Yana asik kembung (mungkin ikut belah hubby kot), baru kelam kabut carik tali barut dgn SIL. Nasib baik ada yg turun temurun punyer, savelaa sket…

Tapi yg plg best, throughout the whole process Yana mmg x nak langsung suckle melainkan dgn saya. Botol susu mmg dia x nk..so mmg melekat jer dgn umi. Susu mmg byk sampai bengkak both B. Konsep demand & supply mmg menjadi!Disebabkan Yana mmg langsung x nak botol, air masak mmg x minum langsung, sampai saya naik risau sbb org sekeliling asyik salahkan saya x ajar Yana minum air masak. I never knew her resistance is a blessings in disguise!

Bilamana saya naik bekerja, Yana hanya menyusu waktu malam..siangnya minum susu FM..Maafkan Umi, Yana!

Sememangnya pengalaman pertama terlalu berharga . Moga2 niat saya utk menyusukan secara eksklusif dipermudahkan untuk anak kedua!

Perihal Sabtu

Akhirnya, company aku approved utk tak payah berkerja utk hari Sabtu. Kitorang da fight psl ni dr zaman tok kaduk lg, tp br skrg nampak sinar harapan..

Tapinya...
hanya clerk dpt dulu..aci?

(wah..nampaknya clerk lg byk benefit dr kitorang, baik jadi clerk!for your info diorg ni sbb ada union, dpt COLA, dpt elaun transport RM2/hari, yg kitorang engineer cabuk ni satu hapah tak dpt, sumernya guna gaji yg ntah berapa kerat nih..)

kitorang yg middle management ni ditangguhkan dulu sebab katanya takut production x de support!takut mesin x leh jln kalu engineer tarak. logik ker?kalu camtu tak yah blk umah,berkampungla ramai2 kt tepi mesin tuh...

weh..setakat 4 jam hari Sabtu, freq breakdown adalah close to zero!

Pastu kalu nk fight jugak x nk keje hari Sabtu,ada byk sgt syarat2 gila yg kitorang kena tepati:

1. Office hours tambah lg 1/2 jam (2.5 hours every week)
2. Potong cuti 2 hari (equivalent to 16 hours of working days)
3. Performance machine kena tip top selama 3 bulan starting from March till May09

bila dicongak2 balik kitorang rugi 9 hari bekerja tau!ni ikhlas ke idak bg nih?

Mmg x bekerja di hari Sabtu jadi idaman sbbnya bley spend lebih masa dgn anak, bley setelkan hal2 umah, bley blk kg awal...ish mmg byklah!

I am so fed-up with the whole situation okeh?

Nature or Nurture?

I have been teaching Yana on Al-Fatihah & ayat-ayat lazim from last two months and so far Alhamdulillah she seems to mumbled along with me & respect any piece of paper with Al-Quran verses on it. Once she stumbled upon Zakat Fitrah receipt & automatically thrust her hands upwards as if in ‘berdoa’ mode..hehehe…

As I wondered how would a busy mom like me be able to enhance Yana’s enthusiasm towards education, I recalled a program in Discovery Channel called ‘My Brilliant Brain’. It never failed to fascinate me where it revolved around the life of selected infamous geniuses. Most of the child are gifted with these special abilities that none of his/her peers could do.

But can a genius be trained? Is it nature or nurture?

To have a gifted child is a miracle, but if you, as parents have the ability to tap the child’s inner capabilities is a blessing!

Also in the same program, they discovered that a child who is stimulated with all sorts of playful education would be very inquisitive indeed. The Carolina Abecedarian program (as they called it) involves two groups of 4 months' old babies. One group will be given special treatment i.e a mix of playful activities involving stimulating gross motor skills, cognitive & fine motor skills, language & so on. The other group will only have the normal activities as any other normal babies. The research carried on until some of them reached 21 years old. They will have monthly assessment on their IQ & their performance is recorded. Those in treatment group are 98% African-American with poor mothers, some not even finish high school.

The toddlers they have nurtured in the treatment group shows no difference in terms of IQ test in the first 2 years, but starting from age 3 onwards, the treatment group showed remarkable increase IQ test marks compared to the no-treatment group. Some of them even graduated to be a professor. Isn’t that an interesting fact to digest?

So who cares is your child is not a genius. It is not too late to stimulate your children. Be it only 15 minutes/day reading a story book, still it is better than nothing, right?

(Actually there are no specific methods to stimulate our children, it s up to the parents to access their children's capabilities & polish their interest. The sky is the limit!)
